Google's biggest competitor now is Microsoft. This is going to be one of the hardest competitions for Google. How did it start? Well, when Google decided to build PC desktop computer operating systems (Chrome, for instance). In an effort to compete with Microsoft's top product, the Windows operating system, they gave them away for free. Then, Google even entered the web browser business. Google wants their Chrome to come on top of Microsoft's Internet explorer.

Google will have to face the hardest times because of Microsoft. Google has only one major source of profit (the search function), while Microsoft has more than one source of profit. Regarding Windows operating systems, Microsoft clearly has the biggest share here. In the last fifteen years, they have been emerging as the greatest company in the field of technology.
